Exile
MAIN STAGE ON BROAD STREET
World Entertainment Review by John Wooley -- From the
beginning of its run on the country charts in the early '80s, musicians
and singers came and went with the band, but the sound remained more or
less the same: harmony-laced pop and deceptively simple lyrics, the kind a
regular guy might sing to a girl, with danceable beats and good hooks on
the choruses.
Now, the men who were the
two original lead voices when Exile became a country-radio act have
decided to take the act back on the road. These two guys, as much or
more than anyone else in the band, were the originators of the Exile
sound. Features J.P. Pennington and Laurel County's Les Taylor.

VARIOUS PLACES THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Chicken Dance played on a street organ? Yes, and much,
much more. Appearing at this year's World Chicken Festival will be
Anthony Marconi. Tony, as he prefers to be called, brings back the
"music of the street" as he turns the crank on his
authentic European pipe organ. His toe-tapping tunes capture happy
memories of days-gone-bye: picnics, amusement parks, festivals,
ice cream socials, and more. Listen for his bouncy music,

D. has the same musical innovation and on the edge attitude as Jerry Lee
and Elvis.
From classical to
rockabilly to country to jazz and on to rock & roll, Jason D. adapts
to each different concert setting he performs. Jason D. is unique,
talented and raw energy. This is one act you have to see and hear to

Family
MAIN STAGE ON BROAD STREET
For over 60 years, the Williams Family name has been synonymous with
gospel music in Laurel and surrounding counties. Having sung over the
years at numerous homecoming "dinners on the ground", area
revivals, and comforting broken hearts at hundreds of funeral services,
the Williams Family today has evolved from the guitar and four part
harmonies of Vic, Lee, Jessie, and Jewel Faye, through C.A.'s songwriting
and excellent singing skills to the group that proudly carries the banner
today, original member, Jewel Faye, daughter Connie, Connie's son Kip, and
his wife, Tammy. Rounding out today's line-up is longtime group bass
player, Clifford "Corky" Orrill. As long as there has been
a World Chicken Festival, there has been a Sunday singing with the
Williams Family.
